Apparently, February was slated to be a lot more busy than I originally thought because I didn’t accomplish all of the goals I set out to.

No worries though, because I learned a lot and that is just as important. I learned more about my limitations and a number of different ways to accomplish a single task. I also learned about some of my own business fears.

While working on my WordPress Data Feed Import script, I developed a few great ideas that weren’t in the original game plan, but worked well when I incorporated them. I also took some time to listen to user feedback and made some notes for its next incarnation.

Blogossary earned itself an honourable mention in the New York Times Magazine without being completely finalized. Reader feedback even prompted me to change one of my original goals for the site altogether.

When looking back over the entire month, I realize February taught me that I have a fear of delegating - especially when it comes to literary and design tasks.

(I guess that one bad incident with a virtual assistant is cropping up again.)

I would like to think I have a writing style that brings out my personality - at least a little bit.

Having someone write articles for me, without stifling their own creativity and personality, would mean they probably wouldn’t be able to bring my personality to their words.

In some situations, this really wouldn’t matter too much - but since most of the articles I’d need to outsource are for projects that are already associated with my name, it’s of some concern.

When it comes to design and coding, I also have my peculiarities.

Over the years, I’ve managed to create a system that works well for me and it worries me that outsourcing it would mean my needing to go back after them and revamp their code.

In March, I will need to work on letting go more and allowing others to help me accomplish my goals.

Some of my February goals will apply, but some won’t - that’s the wonderful thing about goals - they’re malleable.
