There is no shortage of sales letters promising you the secret to success and hundreds of millions of dollars if you just buy the product. What you conveniently happen to miss is the earnings disclaimer which states, rightly, that the author isn’t responsible for your actions or inactions.
- Find a niche.
- Register a domain name.
- Purchase a hosting account.
- Build a website centered around the niche.
- Add contextual adverts, affiliate links, or commercial products or a combination of all three.
- Market the website.
- Rinse and repeat.
There you have it, in simplified form, what 90% of the ebooks about starting an online business will tell you.
The ebook will tell you how to find the niche, but it will not find it for you. You can find a service that will provide you with a niche, but there will be at least a hundred other people with the same niche.
Instead of wasting your time mulling over what can’t be done, shift your focus to what can be done and do it. Be creative. And there it is, tucked away in the preceding sentences, the fine line between success and failure.
A business, whether online or off, is something you should walk into with your eyes wide open and your head squarely on your shoulders. No product or person will make you successful. Only you will make yourself successful. A product may help your productivity, a person may provide you with new opportunities, but you need to use the tool and seize the opportunities.

Teli, that is the most honest and true advice that anyone venturing into affiliate marketing could ever get their hands on. And its all true. Too many people think there is a magic formula and they end up frustrated or giving up.

Thanks Chrissie,
After receiving an unusual e-mail I decided it needed to be said, and very frankly.
You know, I hadn’t heard from you in so long I started to worry. I’m glad to see you’re around though and I’ll be e-mailing you in a few
