There seems to be a new way to increase sales: affiliate back-end sales . I can remember when back-end sales, upselling, and one-time offers were all the rage, but this one is a new to me.
After signing up for an affiliate program, a “special offer” for affiliates to receive a product at a “discounted rate” rate appeared. A “thank you” for becoming an affiliate.
The product offered, though very similar, wasn’t the same product available for marketing through the affiliate program. Otherwise, it would have been like saying, “Hey, I know there’s a chance you’re just going to purchase through your affiliate link anyway, let me cut out a step for you.” and that just wouldn’t be right.
