Steve Rubel has taken it upon himself to post a draft version of the four P’s of blog marketing.
Passionate - Write about issues that are near and dear to your heart
Purposeful - Make sure you keep the end in mind; why are you blogging?
Present - Keep an eye on what’s topical today
Positional - Take a stand on an issue and follow it
I like it. But, since not all blogs need to remain “present”, I would swap that for something else - I’d say timeless, but that doesn’t start with P.
How about Perpetual?
I like to read blogs that have content that will still apply a week, a month, or even a year or more later. That, to me, makes up some of the best content.
Now, I understand that not all content can last (or be valid) forever, so maybe Present and Perpetual can reside hand in hand?
Keep an eye on what is present, but translate it into something that is timeless.
